Job Description

Programme Planning and Implementation;

  • Technical support in assessment to field staff
  • 100% verification of assessed beneficiaries
  • Identification of vendor in nearby area
  • Signing of MOUs with vendor
  • Distribution of utility vouchers among 395 families
  • Supervise and monitor the distribution of utility vouchers
  • Documentation and reconciliation of the date

Networking and Advocacy;

  • Close coordination with CPC and Teachers (PTC)
  • Close coordination with vendor to provide best quality and quantity of food and non-food items
  • Represent SC before the Government and its departments, partner organizations, donors and the public, as well as within the wider organization, as appropriate for experience sharing and learning from the CP interventions

Children Participation and Child Rights Programming;

  • Include SC approach to child protection in FSL design
  • Apply in all CP – livelihoods interventions, approaches to child-rights based programming, diversity / non-discrimination, children as stakeholders, impact assessment and organizational learning

General

  • As part of the CP team, contribute , as appropriate, to corporate debates on policy, practice and strategy of the programme
  • Participate as appropriate in assessments and responses in the cases of humanitarian emergencies
  • Provide formal and informal technical expertise regarding the livelihoods approach to the other team members

Requirements

  • Masters Degree in social sciences with minimum 2-3 years of experience in development organizations of which substantial proven experience has been in livelihoods working in partnerships with local/national NGOs;
  • Good analytical skills backed by experience that spans area such as field /action research and field experience in livelihoods;
  • An in-depth understanding of development issues pertaining to children;
  • Experience in advocacy at the level of communities, NGOs line departments and donor agencies;
  • Experience in implementing programme interventions based on rights perspective;
  • Experience of working with children and local communities in child rights perspective;
  • Good networking skills within communities they work in and locak NGOs;
  • Ability to appreciate children issues in the context of the community and the macro environment;
  • Skills related to participatory research methods, computer literacy;
  • Good communication skills both written and oral. Fluency in English. Ability to write reports on programme interventions;
  • Ability and willingness to travel widely and frequently;
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills; tact, ability to accept criticism, tolerance, assertiveness, the ability to adapt behavioral style to the circumstances in order to achieve positive outcomes;
  • Sensitive to child protection issues;
