Job Description:
  • Prepare detail implementation plan for the execution of civil work in RHCs, THQ/DHQs and other health facilities and offices under IMNCH project,
  • Carryout the technical assessments to determine the construction and repair and renovation needs of health facilities and offices in target districts of IMNCH Project
  • Assist the Construction Coordinator to develop sound designs, BoQs, drawings and estimates of the buildings to be either constructed or repaired
  • Support the Construction Coordinator in review and preparation of the pre and post award and tendering documents related to the construction and repair and renovation work of the health facilities and buildings
  • Provide technical support to contractors and onsite workers to ensure the physical quality as per the required design and standards.
  • Ensure timely delivery, quality and cost effectiveness in undertaking the physical work by the contractors
  • Carry out regular and frequent visits to construction/work sites for overseeing and monitoring the quality and pace of physical work,
  • Under the guidance of Construction Coordinator, ensure to keep and update all records, documents and paper trails with respect to the construction, repair and renovation work
  • Regularly coordinate with contractors to ensure timely submissions of their bills, invoices and vouchers and check for authentication and compliance before submission to the Construction Coordinator
  • Develop and share benchmarked physical progress reports for tracking progress and processing payments to the contractors by the Finance Section
  • Prepare progress and monitoring reports for sharing with management on timely basis.
  • Carry out other duties and monitoring responsibilities assigned by the Construction Coordinator.
 
Skills Required:
 
 Experience in supervision/monitoring of construction or repair and renovation work of government buildings is desirable
 Ability to undertake technical assessments of government buildings and develop drawings, BoQs and cost estimates
 Command on usage of essential computer and technical software particularly AutoCAD, MS. Words and Excel
 Willingness to travel in field and familiarization with security and socio-political environment in the filed
 Excellent management and communications skills
 Ability to work independently to a high professional standard
 Knowledge of local languages
 Having ability to work in emergency situations and meeting deadlines
