|
The decision to accept students to a particular college extends beyond a students grade transcripts. The college admission officer makes a decision based on the students total application. They strive to make sure the students objectives and the offerings of their particular college complement each other. They may oversee a committee of other administrators who assist in the admission decisions, or they may be a committee of one, depending on the enrollment of their employing college. Additionally, they determine a students residency status as well as whether or not existing credits can transfer. Other responsibilities include the compilation of reports, proposals and responses to inquiries from students and others. The college admissions officer reports directly to the college dean.
