Responsibilities: The person tasked with security management must have the ability to address the practical security needs of the project and staff, and take responsibility for the effective implementation of project security requirements and plans. The Security Manager Project will work daily with the Chief of Party (COP/TL), report directly to the operations manager and liaise with the INGO London Office and Department of Global Security.
The Security Manager will fulfill the following roles
- Project and staff security management.
- Travel logistics management and staff travel tracking.
- Security and crisis management support.
- Guard management.
Duties: The Security Manager duties will include the following:
- Coordinate security measures and practices with project operations
- Apprise security conditions in operational areas.
- Implement and maintain INGO’s security strategy, policies, plans and procedures
- Maintain and operationalize the INGO’s Crisis & Incident Management Plan
- Maintain the Project Security Plan.
- Conduct reconnaissance and security assessments of operations areas and residences/hotels
- Implement a travel management and risk monitor plan
- Act as a bridge between field and corporate managers for issues related to security risk and crisis management
- Write and submit incident reports
- Provide security briefings & orientations to project staff & consultants.
- Brief staff on security issues, rules, and protocols.
- Provide situational reports as needed by INGO’s home office.
- Oversee the office guards and/or the components of the guard company relationship and contract.
- Coordinate and oversee staff travel.
Required Qualifications
- Masters in relevant field or administration.
- Strong verbal and written English and local language skills
- Demonstrated experience in security management in Pakistan and have at least 3 years working NGO/INGOs in the same role.
- Proven interpersonal skills and ability to work with local & international staff
- Demonstrated understanding of the role of security management in the context of development work
