Reporting Line: Operations Manager

Summary:

The Area Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the activities and operations of the Wholesale Business Center (WBC) and to drive local sales.

Role and Responsibilities:

To increase local sales activities and manage routine operations to ensure regional and national top line and bottom line targets are met as agreed.

Key Result Areas:

  1. Finalize quarterly, monthly and fortnightly targets based on the past history and as communicated by the management.

  2. Oversee the implementation of trade offers and schemes as designed by the Country Head Wholesale.

  3. Strengthen the weaker brands by focusing on their sales in order to drive their activity.

  4. Define quarterly credit limits for all dealers in order to manage and control the receivables and daily sales outstanding.

  5. Manage stock inventory of the Wholesale Business Center (WBC) and prepare market reaction reports in order to maintain the given stock standards.

  6. Build relationships with potential clients and monitor competitor’s activities in assigned locality.

  7. Manage the ordering, processing and reporting operations of the WBC through the backend.

  8. Manage the frontend operations of the WBC.

  9. Build team and succession planning activities in order to keep employees engaged.

  10. Ensure timely preparation and dispatch of cash and stock statements to Accounts Department to ensure apt record updates.

Critical Dimensions:

  1. Ensure that quarterly, monthly and fortnightly sales targets are met for the WBC.

  2. Keep daily sales outstanding to the maximum agreed limit.

  3. Keep monthly expenses of the WBC within the budgeted amounts.

  4. Increase the monthly topline sales by building further clientele and strengthening the existing ones.

Candidates from Paint and Decorative, Cement or Fertilizer and Electronics Industry will be preferred.
