Summary – Overall Job Purpose
To maximize store turnover whilst maintaining high levels of customer service and promoting the Shoe Planet brand. To motivate and develop individual staff, creating a highly effective and successful team.
Key Accountabilities
• Responsible for the sales of the store; both in pairage and turnover
• Management and development of staff
• Safety and security matters
• Development of the store including successful execution of VM Guidelines, marketing and promotional ideas/events
• Understand and support Shoe Planet Shop standards and concepts
Duties
· Timely opening and closing of the store
· Financial management including till operation and banking
· Business management – analysis of sales achievements, product mix, customer profile, best sellers and replenishment
· Staff management – recruitment, development, motivation, training, performance management, attendance control, disciplinary matters
· Develop your own product knowledge and that of the team, by using Shoe Planet training manuals and other training opportunities. Ensure that product knowledge is used effectively in assisting customers in their product choice.
· Administration – effective and efficient administration. Maintain accurate and clear records and produce regular management reports as required
· Management of stock orders, delivery and control
· Ensure all company policies and procedures are correctly followed
· Responsibility for health and safety
· Store security
· Promotion planning and implementation, including post-campaign assessments

Experience:
· 05-07 Year+ Experienced store manager, or assistant manager level of a large store, ideally from either footwear or fashion retailer background.
· Staff management and team building skills.
· Highly organized and efficient individual with a good understanding of how the retailing business works.
· Good decision-maker and delegation skills.
· Ability to use initiative and to instigate promotional ideas and events.
