Main purpose of the position:
The SQA Engineer plays a significant role in the quality of the applications and is responsible for QA activities, automation scripting, analysis and tasks necessary for measuring and evaluating product quality and performance. The individual in this role will interact with the development teams involved in project planning, development, and testing. Should have at least 4 years of hands on experience in QA including Grey Box and Black Box Testing techniques
Required Skills:
- At least 4 years of hands on experience in system, regression, acceptance, integration and performance testing (including load & stress testing)
- Hands on, in writing test plan, test cases and scenario matrix
- Well aware of the complete QA lifecycle
- Able to write and execute scripts using a language like Python, JavaScript, Java
- Familiar with SQL scripts
- Familiar with Linux O/S and shell scripting
- Good Analytical and Observational skills with very good problem solving skills
- Able to work in fast paced environment and deliver in tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Should be detailed oriented, have a drive to learn & be self-confident
- Should have experience to mentor and motivate other team members
- Should proactively implement best practices and maintain team standards
Following skills will be an added advantage:
- Experienced with Node, Tomcat applications, Cucumber-JVM, Rest Assured, SaaS, SOA and AJAX
- Experienced with testing of large data sets, scalability testing
- Experienced with testing of Failover, Failback and HA
- Experienced with testing of cloud applications and technologies
- Experienced in Security testing
- Experienced in testing on different platforms like mobile devices, tablets etc.
- Experienced with automation tools like Selenium, Selenium Web Driver, and QTP etc.; using a scripting language.
- Good command over performance testing for web based applications using any of the tools like JMeter, SilkPerformer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Learn the company’s software application from both a functional and a transactional basis.
- Review and understand Product and Business requirements.
- Design test plans and test cases for Regression and Functional tests.
- Document defects in the defect tracking system and assist in their resolution as required.
- Implement test plan, test cases, test automation for continuous integration.
- Review the execution log files for errors, determine the source of these errors, document them in the defect tracking system and report them to Development as appropriate.
- Manually execute tests, record results and report test status as required.
- Identify the severity of defects in the supported product and capture this data in the provided issue tracking/resolution system.
- Identify and provide needed revision information to product documentation.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned by management.
