Senior UI Engineer
We're launching a new product, and we need to find a seasoned software professional to architect, design, and develop core areas and features for the Smart Call Center application.
Smart Telecom Solutions is a small, fast-growing startup that is tackling one of most fundamental problems for small business: helping them grow by increasing productivity , managing customer interactions and lowing the cost of managing customer interactions.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop a scalable front-end application web UI using JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS technologies to work with STS based backend API.
- Integrate a robust unit, functional and integration testing framework into the application UI.
- Work with the architects, developers and QA team both on-shore and off-shore, throughout the product development and maintenance phases.
- Work with backend team on QA and Documentation to deliver software releases of highest quality
- Enhance usability, maintainability and extensibility of STS system infrastructure
Skills/Qualifications
- BS degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in building web based enterprise applications with last 4+ years exclusively focusing on web front end development involving JavaScript technologies.
- Must possess working experience with at least one of the following JavaScript frameworks/libraries: EXTJS (Sencha), DOJO, JQuery. Demonstrable experience in using a JavaScript framework in MVC architecture scenarios is highly desirable.
- Experience in building modular cross browser web front-ends using JavaScript widgets, layouts and event models that work with REST/SOAP web service APIs is required.
- Must have a thorough understanding of JavaScript, HTML5, DOM, CSS 3, AJAX, HTTP 1.1, MVC/MVP/MVVM design patterns, and Web service APIs (including JSON/REST and XML /SOAP).

- Must have good understanding of product usability, user experience and user interfaces.
- Experience/understanding of Web UI testing using Selenium or other automation tools is highly desirable.
- Hands on experience with web/application servers including JBoss, Tomcat, Weblogic is is a +.
- Knowledge of Java, Spring, Hibernate, SQL, and other server-side technologies is a plus.
- Must possess a can-do attitude, excellent communications skills and must be willing to work with off-shore development and QA teams.
- At least one significant stint in a mature engineering organization building packaged software products at leading engineering companies required. Experience in a fast paced startup environment with short, quick product life cycles very desirable.
- Must be a great team player and a highly motivated self-starter. Eagerness and ability to learn new tools, languages and protocols is a big plus.
