1.    Modify existing databases and database management systems or direct programmers and analysts to make changes 2.    Test programs or database, correct error and make necessary modifications 3.    Plan, coordinate and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure 4.    Design, document, and promote security best practices, policies, standards and protocols 5.    Write and code for logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions 6.    Revise company definition of data as defined in data dictionary 7.    Identify and evaluate industry trends in database systems to serve as a source of information and advice for senior business executives 8.    Specify users and user access levels for each segment of database 9.    Develop data model describing data elements and how they are used, following procedures using template or computer software 10. Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information 11. Ownership of logical & physical data models, enterprise data dictionary as well the definition of meta data (Data Sources, Business Rules, Data Rules, Extract Rules and Transformations) 12. Write database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary 13. Primarily responsible to administer (or design/develop) large scale production databases (preferably Informix). 14. Administrators are expected to have hands on experience in configuring, monitoring and administering large production database (terabytes) with excellent database optimizing skills. 15. Experience in High-Availability Data Replication (HDR) environment is desired 16. Strong command on SQL Server and preference will be given to those who have certifications in SQL Server. |
