We are looking for an experienced System administrator with strong Linux-based operating systems experience with strong knowledge of new installations of servers, ensuring the performance, availability, and security of clusters of MySQL instances and supporting Linux systems. Candidate also have good experience in orchestrating upgrades, backups, and provisioning of database instances and Linux-based systems.
Technical skills required:
- 3 to 5+ years as an administrator in Linux environment with MySQL implementation
- Strong knowledge MySQL DB administration and maintenance
- Experience with master and multi-slave replication
- Managing large tables and experience with multiple MySQL storage engines
- Experience with backup, recovery solutions
- IPv4 networking, including TCP/IP, SMTP/POP/IMAP, HTTP/S, LDAP
- Firewall, antivirus, malware protection, security hardening
- Strong knowledge in building and supporting various flavors of Linux: CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu
- Experience in supporting Apache web servers
- Experience in network /firewall support
- Linux/Cisco certifications a plus
- Experience with managing Amazon Cloud Services (AWS) is a plus - DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, Route53, EC2, S3, Simple Workflow and RDS
- Virtualisation using VMWare tools
