Pragma Corporation, USA is undertaking the Financial Market Development (FMD) Project of USAID. FMD is designed to catalyze the development of Pakistan’s debt capital market. FMD will develop and implement activities that result in significant policy reforms, capacity building of sector, and investment to support the government, the private sector and civil society organizations in improving the availability and affordability of domestic capital.
We are seeking to hire professionally strong team members for the following position;
Business Enabling Environment (BEE) Component Lead.
Under the supervision of the Chief of Party, the BEE Component Lead will play a lead role in identifyingmajor legal and regulatory constraints and gaps, analyzing the magnitude of that impact, and developing an advocacy campaign together with the stakeholders. The incumbent will be responsible for overall management of the SMEE activities in the area of business enabling environment improvement in accordance with the approved work plan and schedule of deliverables. Other duties and responsibilities include:
- supporting improvement in the business-enabling environment for SMEs by working with counterparts to reduce policy, legal and regulatory barrier.
- promoting reforms consistent with IMF benchmarks on Doing business by analyzing procedures and drafting recommendations for improvement/simplification.
- building the capacity of the institutions key to SME-led growth in Pakistan,
- ensuring that the SMEA capitalizes on USG on-going/past efforts and programs supported by other donors,
- ensuring achievement of project objectives by supervising the implementation of all project activities of the Business Environment Component as per the SMEA Scope of Work.
Requirements:
- At least 10 years of experience in advocating for public policy and business enabling environment improvements;
- A Master’s degree or higher in Economics, Public Policy, Business, or Social Sciences.
- Experience enhancing the business enabling environment for women owned/managed businesses is preferred but not required.
