KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop new and maintain existing applications.
• Mentor junior team mates through the technology and products.
• Ensure compliance with software design and requirements specifications.
• Improve existing engineering and server operation processes.
• Analyze and resolve technical and application problems.
• Follow an Agile projects development cycle.
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code
• Integration of data storage solutions may include databases, key-value stores, blob stores, etc.
• Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server side logic
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
• Help maintain code quality, organization and automatization
SKILLS
Specialized
· At least 05 years hands on work experience with Ruby-on-Rails as a developer or software engineer
· Strong full-lifecycle experience developing web applications
· Previous experience working with product teams
· Proven ability to manage all technical requirements and work in a pair-programming collaborative environment
· Expert in HTML, CSS, JavaScript (JQuery) and DIV based layouts
· Experience developing highly interactive applications
· Experience of reviewing and documenting code
· Must have a strong foundation in REST API’s and XML
· Familiar with web services.
· Experience in agile- test driven development process.
· Exceptional PHP and MySQL skills (in core and open source customization)
· In-depth knowledge of OOP programming and practices
· Familiar with web standards
· Knowledge of Linux, Apache and webrick based working environment
· Good understanding of Agile principles preferably using Scrum
· Experience in Agile Delivery Methodology IN ADDITION to standard software development lifecycle
General
· Strong English documentation and Communication Skills
· Strong problem solving skills, should be able to research and understand an undocumented set up and application
· Demonstrated experience of unit, integration and end-to-end system testing and performance tuning of application & documenting the same.
· Must be willing to work in a team environment effectively but being an individual contributor at the same time
· Excellent communication and inter personnel skills
· Experience of leading a technical team where mentoring skills have been used.
· Proactive thinking with a ‘can do’ attitude
Educational Requirements: BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or in related field
