Purpose of Position To coordinate the activities of the program for flood affected women and children by ensuring that adequate support (logistics, HR, technical support) is available to the team in the field. To represent the organization in Islamabad at meetings relevant to protection. To provide technical oversight and direction to protection program in coordination with global and regional support and the PDQD. Major roles and responsibilities Program support· Support the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programs for flood affected women and children · Ensure that World Vision policies and guidelines are followed in program development, especially in response to separated children and psychosocial programming. · Support the incorporation of child and women protection into all sectors · Liaise with the commodities team in Islamabad and in the field to ensure that the staff in the field are able to order and receive the supplies they need · Identify and liaise with key contacts and partners in Islamabad · Carry out administrative tasks to support the program Advocacy and public policy development· Work with advocacy colleagues to develop advocacy and public policy messages based on program learning · Carry out local/ national advocacy activities for children and women based on activities in the field Budget management- Record the expenses of the program
Child protection policy· Ensure the implementation of the protection policy in the relief response · To carry out duties which may be required to ensure WV maintains its effectiveness. REQUIREMENTS Education · Masters Degree in social work, social sciences, psychology, or other child related subject · Professional registration (in social work, teaching, nursing, medicine or psychology) · Gender training Experience - Good command of oral and written English.
- Computer literacy is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of protection issues in an international context and emergencies
- Skills and experience in child rights advocacy
- Some administration experience
Skills, knowledge and abilities - Must be prepared to work out of hours as needed and to travel through Pakistan in sometimes challenging conditions
- Must agree with World Visions psychosocial framework, Interagency Guiding Principles on Unaccompanied and Separated Children, and other document
