Major responsibilities of the Conservation Officer (GPAF) will be as follows: 1. Planning, implementation and monitoring of the envisaged programme activities at project areas; 2. Conduct surveys for biodiversity assessment and monitoring in respective sites of Central Indus Wetlands Complex; 3. Coordinate and liaison with government and non government stakeholders and line departments for support in project implementation; 4. Assist in strengthening the existing Management Plans in the context of Climate Change, Disaster Risk Reduction and floodplain management; 5. Organize and conduct meetings, workshops, seminars for communities and partners; 6. Identify potential sites for establishing community managed protected areas in close consultation with the social mobilization team under the overall guidance of the Site Coordinator and Project Manager; 7. Develop alternate energy use plans at each site to implement project interventions; 8. Develop weekly and monthly work plans and budgets for approval to achieve milestones; 9. Write technical progress reports for donors on periodical basis, as per the needs of the project; 10. Write comprehensive activity reports for major project interventions; 11. Develop and share concept papers / proposals for replication of the project activities in other similar sites of Central Indus Wetlands Complex; 12. Ensure optimum utilization of the project funds and timely delivery of technical and financial deliverables concerning the project interventions; 13. Develop TORs of the resource persons and selection or recruitment of other short-term contracted staff or consultant for various studies or assignments required by the project; 14. Carry out any other reasonable assignment associated with the aims and objectives of the GPAF Project that may be assigned to the Conservation Officer by the senior management.
