Major responsibilities of the Livelihood Development Officer (GPAF) will be as follows: 1. Develop Livelihood Development Plans through consultative process for the fisher communities at respective sites: - Conduct a participatory Training and Needs Assessment (TNA) in collaboration with Coordinator Training and Capacity Building
- Develop Livelihood Development Plans based on community consultations and market studies
- Endorsement of Livelihood Development Plans by communities and stakeholders
2. Based on the approved Livelihood Development Plans by the communities, help in setting up of demonstration projects in close consultation with other members of the project team; 3. Establish market linkages for promotion of community products to explore opportunities of revenue generation; 4. Organize local level exhibitions at significant places to promote community products 5. Provide skill enhancement training and technical assistance to communities as well as project team in the implementation of Livelihood Development Plans in collaboration with Coordinator Training and Capacity Building. 6. Establish linkages with stakeholders and organizations to develop a network for promoting community livelihoods 7. Explore opportunities for local level funding and support for fisher communities to sustain their interventions 8. Ensure the sustainability of the income generation interventions in close consultation with communities 9. Arrange discussions with local organizations, business development agencies and other private sector for enhancing partners initiatives in supporting livelihood interventions of the fisher communities of project area; 10. Promote success stories and lessons learnt to show the impacts of the project interventions 11. Write activity reports, progress reports, event reports and any other required by the project 12. Develop weekly and monthly work plans for effective implementation of the project interventions 13. Ensure optimum utilization of the project funds and timely delivery of technical and financial deliverables concerning the project interventions; 14. Develop TORs of the resource persons and selection or recruitment of other short-term contracted staff or consultant for various studies or assignments required by the project; 15. Carry out any other reasonable assignment associated with the aims and objectives of the GPAF Project that may be assigned to the Livelihood Development Planner by the senior management.
