Job Description:

Major responsibilities of the Research Officer (GPAF) will be as follows:

1. Carry out research in support of Project Manager’s / Senior Director’s contribution to the implementation of the project;

2. Locate, using IT tools such as internet search engines, and maintain a library of scientific literature related to the project and its interventions;

3. Provide technical input on quantitative and qualitative research and assessment works;

4. Design and prepare research plan, questionnaire, reports and tabulations;

5. Contribute substantially to development of work plans, research questions, project proposals and field research guides;

6. Help develop project proposals in collaboration with Project Manager and Senior Director to further the cause of wetlands conservation and livelihood support for local communities;

7. Identify possible areas of collaboration and partnerships with local organizations, universities and research institutions for effective implementation of the project interventions;

8. Assist in preparing research reports, briefing notes, policy papers and other such related materials as required by the Project Manager and other team members;

9. Organize and arrange meetings with experts and senior consultants for coordinating field visit, preparing research training materials and tools for conducting research work in the project area;

10. Participate in the analysis of the data and the final report publications; and,

11. Carry out any other reasonable assignment associated with the aims and objectives of the GPAF Project that may be assigned to the Research Officer by the senior management.
