The Senior SQA Engineer will be responsible to use his/her extensive QA experience to show initiative and innovation while following, and suggesting improvements to, an established quality assurance methodology for all software products.
- The Senior SQA Engineer is also responsible for conducting QA processes in order to deliver high-quality projects according to plan and initiatives through the established SDLC.
- This role will be focused on hands-on testing but will also have the responsibility to provide knowledge and train junior resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Review requirements and functional specifications to provide testability and implementation advice.
- Generate test cases per requirements, functional specifications, and test case templates.
- Record and update defects, and verify defect fixes, using the JIRA defect tracking tool.
- Get testing requirements from the SQA Distinguished Engineer.
- Any other testing/ planning task given by the SQA Distinguished Engineer or SQA Project Manager.
- Perform hands-on testing according to the testing plan provided by the SQA Distinguished Engineer or Project Manager.
- Have complete functional knowledge of current project assigned.
- Advises and helps SQA Distinguished Engineer in matters related to testing.
- Mentoring of colleagues of SQA Engineers.
- Make recommendations, accept direction, monitor and motivate SQA Team to excellence.
- Adhere to SQA Methodology document during the testing cycles.
- Provide suggestions for improvement of QA efficiency.
- Identify potential crises and devise contingency plans.
Educational Requirement
- A bachelor’s degree (BS/BCS/BE) from accredited college-level institution in the software field
- MS/ MCS in software field (preferred)
- QA Certification (preferred)
Experience Requirement
- 6+ years of experience in Quality Assurance.
Required Skill Set
- Individual who naturally looks for flaws, and is driven to suggest improvements.
- Have an understanding of automated testing, load testing & stress testing.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Must have good understanding of the entire Software Development Life Cycle.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a deadline driven environment.
- Should be familiar with SQL & able to write & execute SQL queries.
- Hands-on knowledge/experience of API and web technologies testing.
- Self-motivated, quick learning, and responsive team player
