Responsibilities:

  • Installation and troubleshooting of networking hardware to include Routers, Switches, Firewalls for local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) systems.
  • Coordinate special projects related to LAN/WAN hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements.
  • Installation and troubleshooting of network hardware including Cisco switches, firewalls, and IDS/IPS systems.
  • Administration of Cisco data Centre network utilizing Nexus switching platforms in ACI environments.
  • Coordination of special projects related to LAN/WAN and IPT hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements.
  • Maintenance and management of Cisco Prime Infrastructure, to include setup of new sites, syslog/fault monitoring, image/ios backups and change management.
  • Network access control utilizing for distributed wireless and wired networks.
  • Network health monitoring utilizing industry leading technologies.
  • Discover, design, plan, and implement next-generation networks using the latest technology and network automation.
  • Follow life-cycle oriented processes and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade, and provide solutions to complex hardware/software problems.
  • Create and execute test plans to meet project requirements for assigned components.
  • Assist in the configuration and deployment of core and peripheral network devices, which will require continuous learning of new devices (i.e., Nexus switches, ASR routers, and long-haul optical equipment).
  • Proactive monitoring of all network devices, services, and servers using a combination of tools to ensure high availability and SLAs.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging tools and technologies.
  • Research, evaluate and recommend technologies to support business requirements.
  • Rigorously create and maintain documentation for all processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with and support the work of other staff engaged in similar functions
  • Attend and actively participate in weekly meetings.
  • Coordinate with the rest of the MIS team to meet the team objectives.
  • Provide emergency 24 x 7 on-call support on a rotating basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Any combination of education and training equivalent to possession of a bachelor's degree in computer science, information engineering or other related areas; such education should be at a level which demonstrates the ability to perform responsibilities listed.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in a distributed network environment.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification required, (Cisco Certified Network professional (CCNP) preferred).
  • Experience with software defined networking (SDN/SDWAN) in a Merak environment.
  • Experience with Cisco ISE or other Network Access Control Methodology is preferred.
  • Experience with Cisco APIC, ACI and VXLAN, and Nexus switching platforms is required.
  • Fluent with Design and Implementation of Cisco networking technologies, including the following: Cisco ACI, advanced switching, routing, and firewall technologies.
  • Knowledge of Cisco network equipment including: Cisco Nexus 9000 / 5000 series of Data Centre switches running NX-OS, Cisco ISR Routers, Firepower/Threat Defence Firewalls.
  • Knowledge of network/internet Protocols/Services such as OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, VXLAN, LACP, DNS, TCP/IP, VPN, SIP, QoS.
  • Knowledge on Sonic Wall firewall
  • Knowledge of 802.11a/b/g/n/ac wireless networks and be able to resolve connectivity, interference, authentication and coverage issues.
  • Ability to work weekends and/or off hours as necessary.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to demonstrate solid attention to detail.
  • History of balancing competing priorities with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines.
