We are looking for an experienced Android Developer who will be responsible to:
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the design, development, and testing of features delivered on our mobile point of sale application.
- Ability to go in-depth on the technology stack, and across technical boundaries to understand end-to-end system workflow.
- Native Android app development and converting ideas, designs and requirements to concrete stable production builds
- Designs and oversees solutions for specific use cases that provide frameworks, interfaces, and capabilities that can be extended and reused for future requirements.
- Influence peers, juniors and seniors both within the immediate mobile organization and also influence and shape ideas for the overall mobile development community at PayPal.
- Work with product, project and engineering teams to deliver products that delights our customers and on schedule.
- Understand and implement Android design patterns
- Collaborate with Engineering and QE to resolve defects and external customer feedback
- Develops and communicates technical processes, standards and best practices within the small business mobile engineering team.
- Works well within a team and contributes effectively to the success of the team and related teams.
- Identifies opportunities for engineering productivity improvements or directions and evangelizes those successfully.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- At least 8+ years of software development experience with 4-5 years of Android development experience.
- Thorough understanding of Android development with Kotlin and Java
- Hands-on experience with latest Android tech.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to lead a team of software engineers.
- Familiarity with continuous integration (Jenkins), release tools, release management, application monitoring through Firebase, mocking tools, build tools, Unit testing and automation testing.
- Comprehensive understanding of Navigation Components, Dependency Injection, design patterns, and best practices of Android architecture design patterns.
- Extremely comfortable with understanding and implementing client-side handlers for web services with REST services at the backend
- Solid understanding of MVVM.
- Thorough understanding of Android Studio and Github.
- Bachelors and/or Masters in computer science OR related field of study.
