Punjab Saaf Pani Company – North (PSPC-North) has been mandated by the Government of the Punjab to plan, design, manage and execute innovative safe drinking water solutions to over 56 million people in rural areas of the Punjab province. PSPC-North is looking for a dynamic professional for the following position;
Manager Legal and Contracts job exists to support Chief Procurement and Contracts in drafting, negotiating, structuring, interpreting, executing and/or administering contractual documents in accordance with PPRA rules, PEC guidelines and FIDIC. He will be responsible for interpretation of contracts and giving advice on contractual responsibilities of PSPC. Further he will ensure effective and efficient management of legal and contractual risks.
Strategic
- Recommend procedures for contract management and administration in compliance with company policy. Contribute to or influence company policies as appropriate.
- Plan and direct all aspects of PPSC's legal affairs and ensure maximum protection of its legal rights.
Contract Management and Negotiation
- Review and approve contracts to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws and regulations.
- Prepare briefs for contract negotiations with the Consultants and assist the Chief Contracts and Procurement and CEO during Contract negotiations.
- Collaborate with the Projects & Services department to monitor the contractor’s progress and performance ensuring that services conform to the contractual requirements.
- Provide recommendations on all standard and non-standard contracts, and often negotiate with parties until consensus has been reached.

1. Drive contract life cycle from drafting through completion of the negotiation process, and/or contract execution.
2. Reviewing contractors’ proposals, negotiation with and formalization of any contract variations along with maintenance of essential information with a summary of each contract for the CEO.
3. Ensure that signed contracts are communicated to all relevant parties to provide contract visibility and awareness.
Legal Risk Management
4. Provide legal protection and risk management advice to management especially on contract management.
- Review contracts or other documents to assess legal implications that need to be brought to the executive management’s attention.
- Carry out supplier assessment process as specified in the procurement manual on the conclusion of contract terms with vendors and contractors.

1. Carry out any other task directed by the Chief Procurement and Contracts as may reasonably be required for the fulfillment of departmental objectives.
6. Vet all agreements and contracts entered into by the company with contractors, EMCs, NGOs or any other party
- Maintain a deep understanding of PSPC’s contract policies, legal risk and liability and its position on various matters.
Advisory Services
8. Provide legal support and advice the management as well as the Board in the legal affairs
9. Translate complex commercial/legal scenarios into simple language and action plans
Other Responsibilities
- Participates in developing the solicitation and writing the draft documents.
- Provide assistance to Chief Procurement and Contracts in day-to-day contracting and contract administration.
- Review contracts or other documents to assess legal implications that need to be brought to the executive management’s attention.
