Vacant position: Distinguished Engineer - QA Automation

Type of Employment: Permanent

Location: Karachi, Pakistan

Timings: 10:30 AM – 7:30 PM PK Time

Job Description: Role of an Automation expert is to create and maintain test automation scripts of a Web based and desktop application by closely working with the QA and Development teams within Technology department. The Automation Expert will have to determine and drive the automation goals of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

Experienced in a test automation tool selection and framework design process for an automated testing in a Java/EJB/Ant/Maven/.NET environments.
Experienced with CICD tools; for example, GO CD and Jenkins etc.
Develop and execute automated tests; require programming in Java, C# and scripting language.
Perform static analysis of source code and code coverage for example using SonarQube and JaCoCo.
Perform validation, visual, API level and integration level automated testing.
Experienced with latest technologies AWS, Docker, Containerization, Kubernetes, Chef, Puppet etc.
Integrate the test suites into the test management system and custom test harnesses.
Able to setup environments for execution of automated testes across different environments.
Identify new approaches and suggest tools / techniques to fast track the automation effort.
Work at devising and implementing a performance test suite.

· Compile automation design documents, operational guides and training manuals for the team.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Bachelors in Computer Science or Information Technology.
Eight or more years’ experience in test automation, with at least one year of that experience in a Unix Web/database/application server-side browser-based application environment.
A proven track record of writing automation scripts and installing/configuring automation frameworks
Programming, system administration, or database administration experience is a plus.
Well known understanding of quality assurance and software development methodologies.
Understand the strengths and limitations of various testing tools and frameworks.
Experience in applying automated testing tools/frameworks to software products.
Strong experience of Java(must), C# and scripting language with Selenium Web Driver and Grid.
Experience with testing frameworks such as NUnit, JUnit, TestNG, REST Assured, Serenity BDD, Cucumber JVM etc.
Certification in testing tools or testing skills is a plus.
Experience with JIRA is a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication.
Provides timely status updates on deliverables to management.
Effectively work with people of diversified skill sets and personalities.
Shares ideas and information among the team.
Work with self-orientation and quality mind.
