Core Responsibilities & Duties:

Design and build applications for the Android platform.
Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
Help maintain code quality and standards.
Write clean and reusable bits of code with high readability.
Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
Create compelling device specific user interfaces and experiences.
Work along with web developers to design and maintain a robust API framework.

Skills:

Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines.
Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes.
Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices.
Strong knowledge of Gradle build system.
Deep understanding of activity and fragment lifecycles.
Proficient with Kotlin, Java and Android Studio.
Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
Familiarity with Restful APIs.
Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications.
Familiarity with the use of device sensors, such as gyroscopes and accelerometers.
Familiarity with open-source Android ecosystem, 3rd party library integration and customization.
Deep knowledge of design patterns.
Experience with MVVM pattern.
Familiarity with Rx framework and observer pattern.
Understanding of object oriented, functional and reactive programming.
Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
Experience with performance and memory tuning tools.
Knack for benchmarking and optimization.
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools.
Knowledge of other web technologies and UI/UX standards is a plus.
