ACTED is a non-governmental organization with headquarters in Paris, founded in 1993. ACTED has been present in Pakistan since 1993. ACTED Pakistan programmes range from short-term emergency responses to recovery and rehabilitation, as well as longer-term development initiatives. ACTED strategy is to target vulnerable communities affected by natural and conflict-related disasters as well as lack of socio-economic development.

Background of the Project: LNGB project is designed based on one of the successful learning model of alternate learning program where girls learn literacy and numbery skills. The Leave No Girl Behind (LNGB) project is aiming to support the ‘harder’ and ‘hardest’ to reach out-of-school adolescent girls between 10 and 19 years of age in gaining literacy, numeracy and other skills relevant for life and work. After completion of L&N cohort, girls enroll in technical and vocational training programs, where girls learn technical skills around market driven trades/skills. The span of technical courses is 3-4 months. These skills also provide opportunity to the girls to start income generation and improve their livelihood. They are utilizing the earned money for their own and families’ education expenses

Overview of the Post

The scope of responsibilities of the Project Officer will include but not limited to support and assistance in the LNGB project for reporting, documentation, collection of case studies from the field, data analysis and drafting of visibility and promotional material, etc. The Project Officer is expected to assist the Team Lead-LNGB in all the above-mentioned tasks and assignments.

Responsibilities:

The Project Officer is in charge of contributing to the following activities:

Facilitation in finalizing the reports and research pieces in consultation with the Team Lead.
Work closely with the Team Lead, Deputy Team Lead, Head Office and Field Area Team to ensure that project activities and their documentation is well organized.
Regular follow up with the field staff for collecting information and case studies from all the three components of the project that is Accelerated Learning Programme, Literacy and Numeracy and TVET (skill training) programmes.
Support the project in designing and developing IEC (Information Education and communication) and external as well as internal visibility material.
Coordinate with the external designers for the development of visibility and promotional material.
Assist Team Lead in creating Social Media posts, content for blogs and webinars and its approval from the Program Development Department.
Support proper documentation of the learning and training events along with the means of verification.
Contribute to and assist the project in maintaining appropriate and relevant record of resource material including photos and video developed as part of the project.
Translate content from Urdu to English when required.
Help Team Lead develop SOPs and procedures/protocols as the need arise in the field.
Comply with ACTED’s “Zero Tolerance” policy on Safeguarding/Child Protection and all other global policies and procedures.
Any other works as assigned by the organization from time to time.

Participate in ACTED Global communication strategy by providing regular informal updates on projects, by sending pictures and articles on projects progress and/or specific events for ACTED Newsletter and Annual Report.

Social cohesion is a key component to ensuring equitable service provision. ACTED’s interventions include the establishment of local representation bodies as well as supporting the rights of women, minorities and marginalized groups; Pillar 4 – Environmental protection and community resilience – This pillar aims to mitigate some of the effects of recurrent disasters, climate change and environmental degradation.
