To assist the Project Manager to Lead and guide ACTED’s project staff on project implementation in project targeted areas.
Ensure that WASH and FSL planned activities are successfully implemented in project areas.
In collaboration with the project team and coordination, determine the strategic direction of the Project in the short, medium and long-term and map out activities.
To assist the Project Manager in collaborating effectively with other project managers/ Officers and the coordination team. Ensure that they are wholly involved in Project planning and direction.
Collaborate with the Appraisal, Monitoring and Evaluation Unit (AMEU) to assess need, monitor activities, and evaluate project progress.
Ensure that lessons learned in the course of implementation are integrated into the project to ensure that it remains responsive and relevant.
Be alert to opportunities arising for learning, collaboration and partnership that may enhance Project quality and responsiveness.
To assist the Project Manager developing and planning project’s methodology according to principles of relevance and compliance;
Ensure that program strategies are implemented in a coherent manner in the field;
Work closely with project field team to ensure proper supervision of project activities;
Liaise with local communities, Authorities and organizations in the field;
Provide weekly progress reports to Project Manager and Area and Deputy Area Coordinator regarding progress of work
Coordinate closely with AMEU on data and information collected from the field
Liaise with program staff of other ACTED offices/projects to ensure proper information sharing and synergies development
Attend external coordination meetings of WASH, FSL, CoRe working groups upon request from the Project Manager / Area Coordinator;
Weekly, monthly and quarterly project progress reporting as per project needs

The country programme comprises of four key pillars: Pillar 1 – Humanitarian assistance – Through this component, ACTED supports the emergency and early recovery needs of communities following disasters. In recent years this has included support for communities affected by floods, earthquakes and the complex emergency; Pillar 2 – Income generation and sustainable livelihoods – ACTED has extensive experience in this sector including market-oriented vocational trainings, basic skills development, as well as on and off-farm livelihood assistance; Pillar 3 – Social cohesion and access to basic services – ACTED improves access to basic services through a range of measures including support for educational institutions, community infrastructure and local governance. Social cohesion is a key component to ensuring equitable service provision. ACTED’s interventions include the establishment of local representation bodies as well as supporting the rights of women, minorities and marginalized groups; Pillar 4 – Environmental protection and community resilience – This pillar aims to mitigate some of the effects of recurrent disasters, climate change and environmental degradation.
