Provision of analytical inputs to the Head of Procurement Unit for the elaboration and implementation of operational strategies in procurement, contact and vendor management areas, focusing on achievement of the proposed result.
Full compliance of procurement activities with AKESP rules, regulations, strategies, policies, and Procedures.
Effective implementation of AKESP internal control system, with analysis of parameters in support of proper design and functioning of a user-oriented contract management and vendor management system
Update existing processes flows and create new process flows with clear AKESP Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in Procurement, contract, and vendor management areas.
Provision of effective support to the Head of Procurement Unit in management/organization of contract management and Vendor management processes from end to end (from requisition, contract awarded to satisfactory delivery of the last products) for CP, REOs, CP&FM and other AKESP departments focusing on the achievements of the suggested results.
Provision of analysis on organization of procurement plan, processes, contract management, Vendor management, service agreements for the office and projects and periodic monitoring of their implementation in full compliance with AKESP rules and regulations
Provision of technical/legal advice with support from the Legal team at AKESP CO on cases related to contracts/SLA and various agreements.
Provision of support to the Head of Procurement unit in conducting negotiation process to avoid contractual disputes with particular emphasis on establishing preventive measures
update of Suspension, monitoring Consolidated List Individuals and Entities with Association to Terrorist organizations and its dissemination to AKESP units
Ensures facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge sharing in the department focusing on achievement of the results
Providing training to the Purchase/operations/projects staff in vendor management, procurement and contract management areas, Synthesis of lessons learned and best practices in procurement and contract management

Aga Khan Education Service, Pakistan (AKES,P) is a network of educational institutions that combines the operation of 159 schools and 5 hostels with the management of programmes to enhance the quality of teachers, academic resources and learning environments in Pakistan through community partnerships and long-term interventions. It is one of the largest third-sector networks of educational institutions in Pakistan and part of an international network of over 200 schools spread in 8 countries of the world under the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). Reaching out to the remotest areas of the country, AKES,P has been providing quality education in the region for the past 110 years. It is a direct provider of education for nearly 36,000 students from pre-primary to higher secondary levels and facilitates access to higher education through the provision of scholarships, hostels and other educational support services.With more than 2,000 employees, of whom over 1,500 areteachers, AKES,P is also supported by over 2,000 volunteers. In Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral, the first AKES,P schools were setup in the 1940s; since then they have contributed significantly toincreasing the literacy rates and social development in theremote, mountainous, harsh and ecologically fragile regions ofNorthern Pakistan. AKES,P currently operates 151 schools inGilgit-Baltistan and Chitral, providing education to over 27,000students, of which 54% are girls. Through these efforts, AKES,Pis continuing to play a critical role in women’s development inthe region. In the Southern Region, AKES,P operates four schools in Karachi,three in Hyderabad and rural Sindh and one in Hafizabad,Punjab, with over 8,900 students. All AKES,P schools follow theNational Curriculum but place special emphasis on the teachingof English, Mathematics, Science and the increasing use ofInformation and Communication Technologies (ICT).
