Senior Finance Officer will be responsible for the following:

• To plan monthly visits of schools in the South region to ensure AKES,P policies, SOPs and compliance requirements are being met and followed and share the report with the General Manager- South region as well as CFO.

• To ensure tax implication on payments and update the South region for any tax upgrades along with submission of vendor taxes on a weekly basis and updating the Central Office.

• To verify school payments and implement strategies related to operations and trial verification of the South region on a monthly basis.

• To verify bank reconciliation of the South region on a monthly basis and follow-up with the bank for uncleared deposits and pending payments.

• To maintain and regularly monitor funds for efficient operations by making cash positions on a daily basis.

• To maintain and monitor working capital, current account, and fixed assets of the South region.

Aga Khan Education Service, Pakistan (AKES,P) is a network of educational institutions that combines the operation of 159 schools and 5 hostels with the management of programmes to enhance the quality of teachers, academic resources and learning environments in Pakistan through community partnerships and long-term interventions. It is one of the largest third-sector networks of educational institutions in Pakistan and part of an international network of over 200 schools spread in 8 countries of the world under the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). Reaching out to the remotest areas of the country, AKES,P has been providing quality education in the region for the past 110 years. It is a direct provider of education for nearly 36,000 students from pre-primary to higher secondary levels and facilitates access to higher education through the provision of scholarships, hostels and other educational support services.With more than 2,000 employees, of whom over 1,500 areteachers, AKES,P is also supported by over 2,000 volunteers. In Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral, the first AKES,P schools were setup in the 1940s; since then they have contributed significantly toincreasing the literacy rates and social development in theremote, mountainous, harsh and ecologically fragile regions ofNorthern Pakistan. AKES,P currently operates 151 schools inGilgit-Baltistan and Chitral, providing education to over 27,000students, of which 54% are girls. Through these efforts, AKES,Pis continuing to play a critical role in women’s development inthe region. In the Southern Region, AKES,P operates four schools in Karachi,three in Hyderabad and rural Sindh and one in Hafizabad,Punjab, with over 8,900 students. All AKES,P schools follow theNational Curriculum but place special emphasis on the teachingof English, Mathematics, Science and the increasing use ofInformation and Communication Technologies (ICT).
