Vice Principal – 2nd Shift, Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Karachi

The Vice Principal of the Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Karachi will be responsible for the management and administration of the school as well as supervising and supporting the professional development of the faculty.
S/he will be responsible for school operations, planning and development, monitoring and evaluation, as well as supervising and maintaining student records and school discipline.
The Vice Principal should develop his/her own section to achieve the desired student and teacher profile and ensure compliance with the policies and procedures of AKES,P.
The ideal candidate must hold at least a Master’s degree preferably in Education from a reputed university, and have a minimum of 5 years of teaching and 03 years of educational management experience at an institution of good repute.
The individual should have effective and strong communications, classroom management, interpersonal and leadership skills
Proficiency in MS Word and Excel, and proven experience of working with parents and the community is desirable.

Aga Khan Education Service, Pakistan (AKES,P) is a network of educational institutions that combines the operation of 159 schools and 5 hostels with the management of programmes to enhance the quality of teachers, academic resources and learning environments in Pakistan through community partnerships and long-term interventions. It is one of the largest third-sector networks of educational institutions in Pakistan and part of an international network of over 200 schools spread in 8 countries of the world under the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). Reaching out to the remotest areas of the country, AKES,P has been providing quality education in the region for the past 110 years. It is a direct provider of education for nearly 36,000 students from pre-primary to higher secondary levels and facilitates access to higher education through the provision of scholarships, hostels and other educational support services.With more than 2,000 employees, of whom over 1,500 areteachers, AKES,P is also supported by over 2,000 volunteers. In Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral, the first AKES,P schools were setup in the 1940s; since then they have contributed significantly toincreasing the literacy rates and social development in theremote, mountainous, harsh and ecologically fragile regions ofNorthern Pakistan. AKES,P currently operates 151 schools inGilgit-Baltistan and Chitral, providing education to over 27,000students, of which 54% are girls. Through these efforts, AKES,Pis continuing to play a critical role in women’s development inthe region. In the Southern Region, AKES,P operates four schools in Karachi,three in Hyderabad and rural Sindh and one in Hafizabad,Punjab, with over 8,900 students. All AKES,P schools follow theNational Curriculum but place special emphasis on the teachingof English, Mathematics, Science and the increasing use ofInformation and Communication Technologies (ICT).
