A leading industrial group requires a Receptionist cum Telephone Operator for its Head Office located at Shahrah-e-Faisal, Karachi. Prospective candidates must meet the following criteria:

QUALIFICATION: Graduate

JOB TYPE: Full-Time

EXPERIENCE: Two years of working experience as a Telephone Operator / Receptionish

CAREER LEVEL: Experienced Professional

JOB LOCATION: Karachi, Pakistan

GENDER: Male or Female

PREREQUISITES:

· Education: Graduate or equivalent. Must speak, read, write, and understand the English language used in the workplace

· Experience: (2) years Previous Office/ factory-related experience desired.

· Knowledge of centralized telephone systems. Familiarity with PABX Panasonic versions would be favourable.

· Skills in the operation of telephone equipment

· Knowledge of personal computers and methods of updating databases

POSITION SUMMARY:

Speaks clearly, distinctly, and with a friendly, courteous tone. Uses listening skills to put callers at ease and obtains accurate, complete information. Answers incoming calls and directs them to relevant rooms and workstation through the telephone console or to departments, takes and distributes messages for management/staff.

TELEPHONE OPERATOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Answers incoming calls.

· Directs call to Clients & staff, or departments through the switchboard or PBX system.

· Places outgoing calls.

· Understand the telephone operator board or PBX switchboard operations.

· Multitasking abilities will always come in handy, because a PABX operator may be asked to do other jobs as well.

· Must be polite and courteous while answering the phone.
