Senior Data Modeler

We are seeking a Senior Data Modeler to drive the business by being actively involved in the creation, evaluation, and review of data models in order to ensure that a high level of design is reached and maintained while assisting with activities related to data standards, data quality, and data governance. The successful candidate will be assigned to one or more projects and will be required to follow and promote modeling best practices and standards.

This position will require an individual who can work with minimal supervision and independently interface with development teams, business analysts, management, and client interface/business owners. The successful candidate will be expected to stay current on database technology while also continuing to grow their knowledge the underlying industry

Essential Functions:

Develop and maintain an enterprise data model that serves both strategic and tactical needs
Establish and maintain data standards, policies, and architectures
Support the build out of the Data Warehouse and associated Data Marts
Captures and maintain metadata (business rules for the use of data)
Maps business requirements to logical and physical data models
Conduct data model reviews with project team members
Enforce & promote standards and best practices in data modeling efforts
Ensure data warehouse and data mart designs efficiently support BI and end user requirements
Collaborate with ETL teams to create data landing and staging structures, as well as source to target mapping documents
Develop and maintain expertise/proficiency in various application areas
Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and standards

Required Knowledge and Skills:

4+ years data modeling experience
Bachelor’s degree required
OLTP and OLAP database design
Data Mapping
Dimensional Modeling
Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Modeling
Fluent in both normalized and dimensional modeling techniques
Erwin or similar case tool experience
Knowledge of MS SQL Server databases and optimization techniques
Ability to write/modify complex SQL queries
Facilitating projects; mentoring
Self-motivated, responsible, conscientious, and detail oriented
Familiarity with reporting and integration tools

Job Type: We can consider both type of applicants that are interested in contractual or permanent roles

Job location: The role is mainly located in our Islamabad office. However, there might also be requirements of traveling to EU. However, international travel will be agreed with the successful candidate
