Terms of Reference

Position: Driver

Number of Positions: 1

Location: Islamabad

Duration: 1 Year (extendable)

Deadline: January 24, 2017

Background:

The Centre for Peace and Development Initiatives, Pakistan (CPDI-Pakistan) is an independent, non-partisan and a not-for-profit civil society organization working on issues of peace and development in Pakistan. It is registered UNDER SECTION 42 of the Companies Ordinance, 1984 (XLVII of 1984).

Responsibilities:

· Drive vehicle for official travel or as requested by Supervisor

· Ensure punctuality and safe transport;

· Ensure vehicle is kept clean, tidy and in good working condition at all times

· Ensure vehicle is kept secure at all times

· Ensure vehicle is given regular/day-to-day maintenance checks: check oil, water, Battery, brakes, tyre, etc.

· Perform minor repairs and arrange for other repairs,

· Prepare and submit vehicle request form, including records of log book, and records of fuel slips at the end of each month.

Qualifications :

· Matric

· Valid driving license

Knowledge :

· Understanding of transportation law

· Good traffic judgment

· Good knowledge about car mechanics

· Knowledge of the locations in Islamabad and other provinces.

Skills :

· Excellent driving skills

· Flexible, effective team work and interpersonal skills

· Knowledge of English language

Experience :

· Minimum 5 years experience as driver with good driving record .

Attitudes:

· Willing to work long and irregular hours, shift duty and on public holidays as required.

· Willing to travel outstation location

Special Note:

· CPDI is a non-smoking area. Smoking is not allowed in covered areas of CPDI offices, inside CPDI official vehicles, during the proceedings of any seminars, conferences or meeting conducted by CPDI or where any employee is representing CPDI.

· CPDI has a zero-tolerance policy towards financial corruption, moral turpitude and sexual harassment.

· CPDI has a non-discrimination policy on basis of race, language, color, and religion.

· CPDI has a policy to disqualify the applicants who try to influence short listing/interview committee during the process of recruitment.

· Selected candidate is required to join CPDI on immediate basis.

Centre for Peace and Development Initiatives(CPDI) is an independent, non-partisan and a not-for-profit civil society organization working on issues of peace and development in Pakistan. It is registered UNDER SECTION 42 of the Companies Ordinance, 1984 (XLVII of 1984). It was established in September 2003 by a group of concerned citizens who realized that there was a need to approach the issues of peace and development in an integrated manner. CPDI is a first initiative of its kind in Pakistan. It seeks to inform and influence public policies and civil society initiatives through research-based advocacy and capacity building in order to promote citizenship, build peace and achieve inclusive and sustainable development. Areas of special sectoral focus include promotion of peace and tolerance, rule of law, transparency and access to information, budget watch and Legislative Watch and Development.
