Senior Database Administrator - DBA

Centricsource is looking for a self-driven, highly motivated, hands on Senior Database Administrator. Candidate should have worked as a Database Administrator & DBA, having 5 years of professional development & administration experience preferably in Oracle and MSSQL Server databases (Good to have other databases experience).

Apply if you are willing to work in the 2nd SHIFT: 3:00 pm to 12:00 am.

Responsibilities:

Assisting in database design.
Make sure database high availability.
Updating and amending existing databases.
Setting up and testing new database and data handling systems.
Monitoring database efficiency.
Sustaining the security and integrity of data.
Creating complex query definitions that allow data to be extracted.
Provision Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL instances, both in clustered and non-clustered configurations.
Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases.
Handle common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, replication etc.
Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessary.
Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
Data migration within multiple databases like primary and slave.
Training colleagues in how to input and extract data.
Prepare documentations and specifications.

Required Skills:

Provision Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL instances, both in clustered and non-clustered configurations.
Ensure performance, security, and availability of multiple databases.
Decent experience with recent versions of Oracle and MSSQL.
Strong proficiency in Oracle and MSSQL database management.
Knowledge of 'relational database management systems' (RDBMS), 'object oriented database management systems' (OODBMS) and XML database management systems.
Experience with their database software/web applications.
The ability to work quickly, under pressure and to deadlines.
Up-to-date knowledge of technology and the Data Protection Act
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, where the technology is constantly changing.
Experience and good hands on Oracle and MSSQL underlying storage engines
Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for multiple databases.
Experience working with Unix/Linux servers.
Familiarity with other databases server such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MariaDB, MySQL etc.
Must know how to handle Security such as Grant Rollback and Transaction.
Knowledge of limitations in Databases and their workarounds in contrast to other popular relational databases.
Handle common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, replication etc.
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git / BitBucket / SVN.
Experience with replication configuration in Oracle, MSSQL or MySQL.
Ability to plan resource requirements from high level specifications.
