- Lead day to day network operations and monitoring
- Gather product business requirements and configure and test them
- Integrate network elements over DIAMETER, SIGTRAN, SMPP etc.
- Prepare and test new platforms for readiness before go-live
- Handle emergencies to make the network elements operational
- Analyze traces and logs to troubleshoot network problems
- Review logs and identify areas to optimize external links
- Apply basic upgrades, patches and other roll outs
- Perform preventive checks on system nodes to avoid any downtime
- Prioritize troubleshooting and problem solving efforts
- Understand and address user problems
- Engage with partners and vendors to follow-up and solve network issues
Skills and knowledge required
- Tier-1 university degree in an engineering discipline such as Computer, Electrical or Electronics, Telecommunications, Software etc.
- At least 5-6 years of relevant experience in telecom operations or implementation
- Strong understanding of the following network elements, technologies and tools
- OCS, PCRF/PCEF, SCP, GGSN, MSC, HLR, DPI, SDP, SMSC
- Wireshark for pcap trace analysis
- Interfaces: DIAMETER, CAP, SOAP, SNMP, SMPP, MAP and SIGTRAN
- OS / Languages: Linux/Unix, Solaris, Shell scripting, SQL
- Good understanding of prepaid, postpaid, and convergent charging solutions
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
