1. Develop range plans in consultation with design team.

2. Plan launches well in advance including unstitched and pret wear. This includes but is not limited to detailed plans of fabrics, embroideries, prints and embellishments, timelines, consumptions and advance costing.

3. Implement plans timely and under the quality guidelines set by the company eg. Four Point Inspection System for greige fabric.

4. Take complete responsibility for timely launch of each range.

5. Negotiate and finalise transactions with vendors and inhouse team with regards to rates, timelines, payment terms and quality parameters.

6. Stay up to date with newest R & D with regards to fabrication, printing and embroidery techniques.

7. Arrange a minimum of 3 to 4 costings for every purchase for adequate comparison.

8. Work in close coordination with all other departments especially Finance, Store, Design and Quality so that productions are executed as per set parameters.

9. Respect and uphold the decision of the Quality Department.

10. Manage and set an example for the complete merchandising team, training each member to be proficient in his or her designated jobs.

11. Always continue to learn and polish quality and processing parameters, ways of reducing cost and international trends with regards to design and sourcing.

12. Ensure all purchases are made within the prescribed budget by company. Get approvals well in advance if necessary.

13. Respect and uphold company policies with regards to payments, adequate documentation, attendance, office timings and so on.

14. Spend a minimum of 2 full days every week at the factory/warehouse to complete and stay up to date with all documentation with accounts and store departments.

15. Travel as and when necessary for better prices, quality and products both nationally and internationally.
