We're a small team looking to bring on another JQuery developer to assist with front end development.
Backend is in Python/PHP, ideal candidate can assist with PHP writing when necessary, but will focus on front end.
Our organization is within a niche industry that provides a software solution for project management and business development.
We have been in business for over a decade, with our most recent venture currently entering it's 3rd year.
You will be primarily assisting with this new venture with occasional assistance provided to other business areas if needed.
You will work primarily on the following tasks:
1. Assisting our staff to identify and resolve bugs as well as improve current codebase
2. Use JQuery to build new webpages that are both attractive and responsive
3. Assist with decision making and contribute to the team's considerations during weekly scrum and development meetings ensuring feasibility of proposals
4. Assist with refactoring existing code to improve readability and re-usability
5. Assist with backend endpoints when necessary, currently written in PHP with no ORM or web framework
Requirements for this position are:
1. Experience with Javascript. Jquery, and HTML5
2. English speaking
3. Internet connection and ability to meet over Google Hangouts
4. Some experience with PHP and/or Python
5. Some experience with git6. Willingness to learn, and be around others who are constantly learning and improving
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
1. Expertise in Javascript, JQuery, LessCSS, HTML5
2. Experience with charting libraries such as Chart.js, Plotly.js, or d3.js
3. Expertise with git and working in a collaborative development setting
4. Effective communication skills in English
5. Ability to meet during EST daytime hours (8am-8pm EST)
6. Proven ability to self direct and self motivate
7. Strong Experience with PHP (bonus if experience with Laravel)8. Strong Experience with Python web development (Django or Flask)
8. Experience in DevOps
9. A portfolio clearly demonstrating the above qualifications
This is a paid position, we are looking to bring someone on a trial basis with the option to full hire at a later date.
This is a remote position, we are based in the eastern US.
The interview will include google meetings to meet with owners/developers followed by shortcode tests provided by 3rd party.
We use google and slack as our main communication platforms.
