Job Description

Your role as a logistics and distribution manager is to organise the storage and distribution of goods. You'll ensure that the right products are delivered to the right location on time and at the right price. You may also be involved in transportation, stock control, warehousing and monitoring the flow of goods.

Understanding the whole supply chain is important so that you can coordinate it effectively and liaise with suppliers of raw materials, manufacturers, retailers and consumers.

Job functions

• • • Use IT systems to book deliveries, manage stock levels, delivery times and transport costs
  • • Use data from IT systems to evaluate performance and quality and to plan improvements

• Allocate and manage staff resources according to changing needs

• Handle all incoming supplier stock deliveries, clearance, booking and stock logging

• Manage all daily outbound deliveries, create labels and manifest each day

• Ensure warehouse is complying and fulfilling orders on daily basis & sending signed manifests to prove goods are dispatched every day

• Returned stock, log all returns and share data with customer service team and warehouse management to ensure all returns are logged

• Returned stock must be processed & categorised then either re-sold as new, refurbished and sold as used, or written off as damaged and used as parts

• Work with all delivery company platforms for outbound deliveries including Royal Mail, DX Freight, Parcel Force, DPD, Parcel 2 go

• Booking-in of all incoming containers to warehouse – then confirming stock levels with warehouse and updating the stock management software

• Use software to keep track of all stock – and ensure stock levels in software match stock levels on the shelves in the warehouse

• Work closely with warehouse & management to ensure all orders are sent in time every day, and all goods are received in a timely and organised fashion

Requirements

• Excellent English language both written and oral

• Quick Learner and a quick thinker with good understanding of business

• Track record of over-achieving quota

• Strong communication skills vocally and in listening

• Familiar IT software systems and highly competent and comfortable in IT in general. The candidate will be working with several new courier and stock management software systems

• In events of adversity or problems related to delivery, we need someone who can think fast and resolve issues by communicating with multiple parties at once

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
