- Provide technical consultancy to the Feedlot farms on animal Health, feeding, improved management practices.
- Selection of layout of the farms.
- Breed improvement program. Environment protection, food safety, traceability and feedlot fattening farm record keeping for beef quality and quantity improvements.
- Be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the cattle farm (financial and operational).
- Ensure that farm operations are run in the most effective manner, both in terms of output as well as taking animal health into account.
- Ensuring that the highest hygiene standards are maintained at the farm.
- Monitoring and ensuring cultivation of feed crops on the farm’s land.
- Manage and oversee animal feed, including it’s procurement and custody/ safekeeping.
- Keep up to date records of vaccination, feed stock, calf breeding/feeding/ production/expenditures/sales etc. records.
- Oversee reproduction and strategies for growing farm.
- Take complete responsibility to ensure animals are gaining max weight on daily/ monthly basis.
- Responsible for managing all staff related to the cattle farm, and to undertake all duties and take responsibility and be accountable for all activities taking place at the farm.
- Analysis - To provide contextual based technical input and analysis for the management of the livestock meat sub sector related interventions of the project.
