A.    Responsibilities

The Junior Training & Development Advisor (Private Sector) in close consultation with the superior is responsible for;

  •   Supporting the Component Leader in the daily management activities of the labour standards programme;
  •   Providing efficient support to the partner organizations/factories through trainings, in order to develop their capacities for achieving the programme objectives with regard to improvement of labour standards and productivity in the industrial sector;
  •   Assisting with the development of training modules to implement the Dialogue for Compliance in an adapted manner;
  •   Providing support to technical team to conduct Trainings of Trainers (ToT) for the Dialogue for Compliance;
  •   Assisting with conducting training need assessment of the partner organizations/factories
  •   Supporting the Component Leader to develop new concepts for capacity development and learning techniques;
  •   Providing efficient support to analyse and follow up on training needs;
  •   Supporting the Component Leader in the daily management of the project.

The Junior Training & Development Advisor (Private Sector) in close consultation with the superior is responsible for the following tasks.

B.    Tasks

1.     Management tasks

  •   Provide support to revise the material for Dialogue for Compliance based on international competency standards with regard to its suitability in the context of the relevant organizations/factories needs; including development of new modules;
  •   Translate the revised and new Dialogue for Compliance modules from English to Urdu;
  •   Assist in developing the training budgets and ensure expenditure is in line with an agreed budget for activities;
  •   Support the Component Leader in recommending new training tools and techniques to enhance the performance and skill development of trainers/ consultants;
  •   Assist in planning, coordinating trainings and development of post training reports with recommendation for improvement;
  •   Support the private sector component team in assuring the quality of deliverables and contribute in achieving the overall result;
  •   Develop a pool of training providers/ trainers that are endorsed by industry for providing excellent trainings;
  •   Assist the technical team to manage the overall process of implementation of the dialogue for compliance, including the development of a timeline, managing the communication with the management and the focal persons of the partner organizations/factories.

2.     Professional advisory

  •   Assist in extending efficient advisory support to the partner organizations/factories through designing and organizing trainings in order to develop capacities
  •   Facilitate Change Management Team workshops, Mini Change Management Workshops, Value Added Trainings and training of trainers to implement Dialogue for Compliance in cooperation with the GIZ experts in the area of labour standards and productivity;
  •   Assist the technical team to develop learning concepts for study tours;
  •   Provide support with developing training material for publication.

3.     Networking and cooperation

  •   Ensures cooperation, regular contact and dialogue with partner organizations/factories;
  •   Works with the component manager and representatives of other thematic areas on further developing country-specific development policy concepts;
  •   Coordinates and networks project activities at the political and operational level;
  •   Joins regular field visits to activity areas in accordance with the requirements of the programme

4.     Knowledge management

  •   Support development of ready-to-use strategies and technical concepts, including guidelines, manuals and procedures, aiming at human capacity development as well as learning of organisations;
  •   Contributes to reporting in accordance with the requirements of the commissioning party and GIZ;

5.     Other duties/additional tasks

  •   Any other duties and tasks at the request of the Component Manager.

C.    Required qualifications, competences and experience

Qualifications

  •   Master’s degree in social science, management, education from a reputed university or similar qualification of a relevant field.

Professional experience

  •   At least 2 years of working experience in training methodologies and development of training material; 
  •   Experience in monitoring and evaluation systems and instruments as well as in measuring performance.

Other knowledge, additional competences

  •   Good moderation and facilitation skills;
  •   Highly motivated and able to work independently with high outputs of high quality.
  •   Excellent working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office). Very good knowledge of MS Outlook and tools for web-design would be an asset.
  •   Excellent command of the English (speaking and writing) and Urdu language – German would be an asset.
  •   Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  •   Very good management and organisational skills
  •   Highly service-oriented attitude.
  •   Willingness to travel when required.
  •   Willingness to work on weekends and longer hours if workload requires.
  •   Must be a team player
  •   Problem solving and critical thinking skills
