A.     Responsibilities

The Technical Advisor Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is responsible to:

  • Implement activities concerning all pillars of sustainability in the textile and fashion industry
  • Engage relevant stakeholders in understanding, developing, and executing joint actions on corporate social responsibility.
  • Support the Component Leader in daily management of project and facilitating the implementation of dialogue and cooperation activities of the various stakeholders.
  • Provide efficient support to the project partners for the achievement of the programme objectives with regards to the CSR activities in the context of sustainability in the textile and fashion industry
  • Develop and implement change management strategies with the stakeholders to enhance their orientation and systems on innovative CSR practices.
  • Facilitate partner factories/private sector to develop an effective CSR programme encompassing all pillars of sustainability

B.    Tasks

1.     Professional advisory services

  • Prepare and execute the skeleton of enriching CSR activities among partners and stakeholders on critical concerns of sustainability in the textile and fashion industry
  • Develop ready-to-use strategies and technical concepts, including guidelines, manuals etc. for the good CSR practices
  • Establish CSR performance indicators to upgrade the capability of partners in line with good local and international good practices
  • Advise the partners to develop CSR system including appropriate goals, defining metrics and processes for development, performance management & evaluation and reporting mechanisms
  • Prepare the CSR strengthening package for partners focusing on workplace cooperation, quality and productivity, environmental management, protection, human resources management, charity management
  • Develop a technical support mechanism which includes, selection of partners, setting-up the partner structure, making key performance indicators (KPIs) including monitoring tools to assess the impact with regards to the CSR framework of partners
  • Support the development and dissemination of CSR success stories through approaches, knowledge products and publications
  • Suggest partner factories effective communication methods to communicate business ethics, CSR targets and performance

2.     Management

  • Support the component in the context of multiplication and scaling up, including the support to develop operational plans, monitoring and evaluation of interventions
  • Manage relationship with the management and the focal persons of the factories to communicate and suggest technical measures on good CSR practices
  • Hire short term experts to support the implementation, guide them in developing work plans and monitor their performance in the context of impact
  • Ensure innovation, digitisation and simplification as foundational elements in the cooperation management with partners

3.     Knowledge management

  • Support the knowledge management within GIZ to further develop the Change Management Strategies
  • Manage the involvement of stakeholders in knowledge sharing in the textile and fashion industry
  • Guide the communication team in developing PR material to communicate the benefits of various interventions
  • Facilitate the preparation of business cases to institutionalize the learning, exchange and knowledge management’ strategies successfully
  • Coordinate with other components/ thematic areas to identifying the joint topics and proposing the coherent work approaches and development concepts
  • Support cooperation with textile business associations, governmental stakeholders, private sector and other project partners
  • Establish and develop networks for knowledge sharing and co-creation

4.     Other duties/additional tasks

  • Keep project/ programme documentation up-to-date
  • Performs other duties and tasks at the request of the superior/management
  • Carry out translation for international experts, when required

C.     Required qualifications, competences and experience

Qualifications:

  • University degree in management sciences, business administration, environmental, social & behavioural sciences, textile or garment engineering, or economics from a reputed university or similar qualification of a relevant field

Professional experience:

  • At least 5 years of working experience of which 3 years on corporate social responsibility or similar fields in the industry or development sector
  • Proven experience in establishing an interactive dialogue platform and change processes through exchange between multiple stakeholders
  • Proven experiences in working with different stakeholder groups like public and private sectors and decision-makers
  • Work experience in advising industry related to sustainable development.
  • Familiar with monitoring, evaluation and performance measurement approaches

Other knowledge, additional competences:

  • Highly motivated and able to work independently with high outputs of high quality
  • Excellent working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office)
  • Excellent command of the English (speaking and writing) and Urdu language
  • Exposure of presenting and knowledge of national and global forums
  • Leadership development certificates and capacity building sessions are preferred
  • Very good management and organisational skills as well as a high preference for accuracy and quality are a must
  • Strong skills in stakeholder relationship management
  • Willingness to travel when required
