3 Year contract (renewable)

Generous Tax free basic salary. Offered according to experience. From 8300 QAR up to 15375 QAR per month.  15375 QAR is equal to +/- 3000 JOD / 11700 TND / 61 000 South-African Rand / 230 000 PHP / 522 000 PKR / 76 000 SDG.

Free fully furnished accommodation provided.

Transport allowance of 1250 QAR per month added to your basic salary.

Free "round trip" (to and from home country) flight tickets on joining, annual leave, and on repatriation. For those with family contract offered this will be also be applicable for your family (wife and up to 3 children up to 18 years old).

40 days paid annual vacation days.

End of Service Award (at end of contract) which is one month's salary for each year worked etc.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Anesthesia Diploma (2 years duration) WITH 7 years anesthesia licensed experience

OR

B.Sc in Nursing + Anesthesia Diploma (1 year duration) WITH 6 years anesthesia licensed experience

OR

Anesthesia Diploma (3 years duration) WITH 6 years anesthesia licensed experience

OR

B.Sc Degree in Anesthesia WITH 5 years anesthesia licensed experience

OR

Preferred Education:

M.Sc Degree in Anesthesia WITH 4 years anesthesia licensed experience

PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE/REGISTRATION: The applicant must have a valid professional license to practice, or registration (where applicable) from home country and/or country of last employment. Must have Good standing status.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Fluent in English - Oral and Written.

Job Summary

The Anesthesia Technologist assists the Anesthesiologist in all Anesthetic procedures and performs some procedures for which s/he has validated competencies.

The Anesthesia Technologist acts as in-charge during afternoon and night duties; consequently, s/he assumes all duties required by this position and is called upon to work any time at any facility of the Anesthesiology department.

The Anesthesia Technologist is under the general supervision of the Head of Anesthesia Services (Technical)/Anesthesia Supervisor who defines goals, priorities and deadlines of tasks to be performed. Common Responsibilities

Prepare the anesthesia equipment and assist the anesthesiologist as an anesthesia technician in all anesthetic procedures.

Perform procedures for which s/he has validated competencies if requested by their superior.

Helps in departments educational and scientific activities by participating in data collection, finalizations of Technician lectures and organizations of workshops.

Monitor and provide feedback on Technicians performance to their immediate supervisor.

Setting up for indicated anesthetic procedures including but not limited to calibrating, testing of monitoring devices and anesthesia machine and supporting the responsible Anesthesiologist.

Demonstrates knowledge and application of the mission, vision and values.

Complies with policies and procedures and in particular infection control, safety and quality management.

Specific Responsibilities

Acts as In-charge in the afternoon and nights duties and during the absence of Anesthesia

Technologist in-charge when needed.

Acts as preceptor for newly hired Anesthesia Technician.

Determine and prepare supplies and equipment for anesthetic procedures, elective or emergency in coordination with the responsible Anesthesiologist.

Maintain cleanliness of anesthesia machines, monitors and equipment before and after every case following procedures established by Infection Control.

Manages all Anesthesia related equipment inside operating rooms.

Coordinate with blood bank to obtain blood and blood components; administer under direct supervision of the Anesthesiologist.

Continually maintains immediate availability to assist in routine and emergency procedures.

Assist in positioning and supporting patients for all types of Anesthetic procedures.

Connect the patient to the required monitors for the respective anesthetic procedures.

Check daily all medications including Anesthetic drugs.

Manages all Anesthesia related medications inside operating rooms.

Assumes the responsibility of narcotics management.

Obtain pharmaceutical supplies and equipment as requested by the Anesthesiologist.

Prepares the specific anesthetic drugs according to the Anesthesiologist order.

Administers the anesthetic drugs under direct supervision of the Anesthesiologist.

Administer Intravenous fluids according to the Anesthesiologist order and under his/her direct supervision.

Assist Anesthesiologist using sterile techniques with invasive procedures including central venous, arterial line placement, airway management techniques and regional anesthetic procedure.

After validated competency:

• Inserts peripheral intravenous catheters
• Extracts and preserves specimens for laboratory investigation and cross matching
• Operates blood sugar and Arterial Blood Gas analyzer equipment and performs the tests accordingly
