Description

Work closely with a team of very talented Software Engineers to design, develop and support APIs and other server side applications
Write clean, well-documented code for a range of digital products and services
Implement software components and features consumed by millions of people
Influence technical architecture in delivering resources to various client platforms
Work closely with other developers, operations, design, product, PM and QA to gather requirements for new API resources that, when implemented, will enable new features in our clients and services
Writing unit tests and end-to-end tests, against your code, to be used in our CI workflow
Assist with evaluating 3rd party services and provide thoughts on when it’s more strategic for us to build versus buy
Participate in peer code reviews, provide and handle constructive feedback, and develop team knowledge
Integration and development of user-facing elements and user experiences.
Design for extensible and scalable multi-threaded solutions, optimizing for resource utilization, performance, and supportability.
Help drive the definition of PHP and JavaScript frameworks to support new features and refactor legacy elements.
Monitor evolving PHP, JavaScript, NoSQL and UI Framework trends and technologies for possible adoption.
Investigate and leverage 3rd party API’s for use in product (e.g. Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc…).

Specification

Good knowledge of PHP web frameworks such as Laravel, CodeIgniter, Yii, etc…
Strong skills in HTML, CSS, Javascript and at least one front-end framework
Experience with back-end development.
Experience developing and maintaining complex web architectures leveraging object oriented PHP and JavaScript.
Experience configuring and tweaking Apache, Node.JS, and Nginx servers.
Experience using Memcached in a production environment.
Experience with integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system.
Experience with software engineering best practices (e.g., unit testing, design patterns, building maintainable code, performance)
Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written English
Able to work in teams, contribute ideas and share knowledge proactively
Self-motivated and unafraid to dive into detailed technical issues
