Main Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function with or without reasonable accommodation. The tasks listed are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.

  • Actively lead or participate in coordination mechanisms in the project location i.e., general coordination & potential MHPSS groups and advocate for principles of IASC MHPSS guidelines. 
  • Assist in development of training and IEC material as per the need of the target audience.
  • Support in the development of a detailed workplan of the project activities with specific emphasis on the trainings.
  • Identify and train local mental health officers and staff/volunteers in community outreach, mental health case management, follow-up and mental health awareness. 
  • Engage trained staff and volunteers in on the job mentoring and supervision 
  • Supervise and manage project activities in line with the project outcome and outputs.
  • Ensure completion and analysis of pre post knowledge tests and on the job supervision checklists. 
  • Provide training in other MHPSS topics as appropriate, depending on identified needs (e.g. key aspects of psychological first aid and relevant aspects of IASC guidelines) to IMC and staff from other relevant stakeholders.  
  • Support collection and reporting of mental health project data.
  • Compile overall project activities and training reports.
  • Implement the project in line with IMC and global MHPSS standards and guidelines and closely coordinate with Program Supervisory staff. 
  • Represent International Medical Corps in MHPSS related meetings and coordination groups. 
  • Adhere to all IMC protocols and procedures surrounding case documentation, confidentiality, and security.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in psychology is a Must.
  • Previous NGO experience will be preferred.

  • Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations and frustrations
  • Excellent decision-making skills
  • Must work independently under difficult conditions.
  • Strong negotiation, interpersonal and organization skills
