Job Overview/Summary:

Established in Pakistan for over 30 years, IRC manages and delivers large, complex programs to meet needs in health, education, protection and livelihoods for displaced, poor and conflict-affected communities. IRC works in partnership with local government and non-governmental organizations and currently works in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh provinces.

Internship Overview/Summary: Under the supervision of the Communications Manager, she/he will be responsible for ensuring day to day operations in accordance with IRC policies and procedures.

Learning Areas:

  • Build understanding of IRC Communications and branding guidelines.
  • Learn how to design artwork for organization’s communication, visibility products i.e. brochures, flyers, reports, infographics, souvenirs, giveaways, banners and other outdoor and venue branding material.  
  • Assist in the research and writing of briefing and training materials.
  • Assist in preparing press releases for all events organized by the IRC.
  • As needed, assist the Communications Manager with external and internal communications materials (e.g. media stories, photographs and newsletters).
  • Build effective skills of teamwork by providing support to the Communications Manager in tasks such as archiving IRC artwork, photos and video data and coordination during or before events.
  • Education: Fresh Graduate (Bachelors (Hons) in Social Sciences, Mass Communications, Graphic Designing or any other relevant disciplines)
  • A basic knowledge of graphic designing and design software i.e. Abode. Illustrator, Corel and Inpage, is preferred.

Work Experience: Entry level.

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong commitment to IRC’s vision, mission, and values.
  • Advanced Skills Using Adobe CS6, CC or Creative Suite.
  • Expert with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, In Page and In Design.
  • Able to produce print ready artwork in allotted time frames.
  • Basic know-how of designing Logos and Corporate Identities.
  • Basic understanding of Branding.
  • Ability to do Illustration like Digital Painting, Sketching, Characters Illustration, 2D , 3D Animation.
  • Should be able to Write Urdu using In Page.
  • Must be able to adapt to the creative story board provided to design the artwork.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Have an established aesthetic outlook towards his/her work.
  • Able to work in a diverse environment.

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, In-Design)
  • Adobe Flash
  • Adobe Dreamweaver
  • Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Prezi
  • Adobe Premiere
  • In-Page
  • Sketch-book Pro
  • Adobe After effects and 3D Max would be a plus
  • Language Skills:  Must be fluent in Urdu & English languages both written and spoken.
