Purpose of Job:

The Technical Team Leader, under the supervision of Head of IT Development, works within a controlled project management framework to lead, develop and support business applications. The Technical Team Leader is expected to conduct system analysis and development and contribute to the applications design. The Technical Team Leader will work within a team environment to build new web, handheld and integration enterprises in combination with development and support for current applications. The Technical Team Leader works closely with professional technical staff in the IT Support Team in evaluating current systems and making decisions on future development. The Technical Team Leader is responsible for contributing to the direction of technical developments under the guidance of the Head of IT Development and Architecture.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Lead and Contribute to design, Implementation and testing to the N-tier (Interface, Business logic, Data access and Data tiers) of web, handled and integration solutions.
  • Specifically support the data and business analysis teams in developing the tools and techniques for efficient system development and delivery.
  • Be aware of all ongoing projects and provide support, guidance and administration as necessary.
  • Involved in support and development of Applications throughout the business
  • Actively contribute and build a sense of teamwork and cooperation within your group and with other IT computing staff.
  • Actively contribute to regular R&D session.
  • Actively lead and manage the developers in relation to the above activities, under the supervision of the development team leader
  • Keep the Head of IT Development informed of major projects in your area. Give the manager feedback about ongoing issues within the organization and share your concerns as they arise.
  • To assist in deployments of business applications (and updates to), potentially outside business hours where necessary 
  • To lead the recruitment of the development team that you will become responsible for.
