Islamic Aid is a humanitarian charity organization that provides relief and development assistance to people in need. We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Visual Media professional to join our team based in Johar Town, Lahore The successful candidate will play a crucial role in capturing and communicating the stories and impact of our work through visually compelling content.

Job Description:

The Visual Media Officer will be responsible for shaping Islamic Aid's narrative and effectively communicating its work to supporters and stakeholders. Working closely with partner organizations and photographers/videographers/staff/volunteers on the ground, the role entails producing high-quality visual content that accurately portrays Islamic Aid's work and its positive impact on vulnerable communities.

Key responsibilities include:

Building and maintaining a network of professional photographers and videographers across various project locations.
Collaborating with project teams to coordinate the production of high-quality visual content.
Developing strategies for visual storytelling that engage supporters and highlight the impact of Islamic Aid's work.
Managing the Islamic Aid photo and video library and story bank, ensuring proper cataloging and availability for communication channels.
Collaborating with the communications team to produce visually compelling content for social media, newsletters, and other channels.
Ensuring ethical representation and preserving the dignity of the people served in all visual materials.
Guiding and supporting project teams of Islamic Aid field offices in building their capacity to create quality content that creatively showcases Islamic Aid's work and its impact on the ground.
Providing training and guidance on visual media techniques, storytelling strategies, and culturally appropriate representation.
Reviewing and providing feedback on visual content produced by partner organizations to ensure alignment with Islamic Aid's standards and mission.
Collaborating with partner organizations on joint initiatives to enhance the quality and reach of visual media efforts.
Monitoring and evaluating the impact of visual content produced by partner organizations, and recommending improvements as needed.
Staying updated on industry trends and advancements in visual media production techniques, tools, and platforms, and incorporating relevant innovations into Islamic Aid's visual storytelling practices.

Person Specification:

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following qualifications, skills, and experience:

A strong portfolio demonstrating proficiency in photography and videography, showcasing a variety of styles and techniques.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with photographers, videographers, and partner organizations.
Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
Keen attention to detail and a passion for accuracy and quality in visual content production.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a solutions-oriented approach.
Understanding of ethical representation and the importance of culturally appropriate visual storytelling.

Experience working in the development sector or related fields is a plus.

Islamic Aid is an international relief and development agency working to make immediate and lasting improvements to the lives of people affected by poverty, war and disaster. Currently our Pakistan program is focused in Mianchannun (District Khanewal) area and consists of three primary schools, skills training center, 10 bedded Mother & Child Health Center and a well-established livelihoods/livestock development project. We have plans to aggressively grow our projects in quality, size, scale and geographic reach within an aim to establish cluster of projects in various areas of Pakistan.
