Social Media Consultant
Islamic Relief Pakistan
Duration: 06 months
Location: Islamabad
Background and justification:
Digital engagement plays an important role in Islamic Relief’s response to global shifts in the fields of communication, fundraising, advocacy and development. Use of social media platforms helps Islamic Relief expand its outreach and broadens engagement on the issues that we work on.
Effective use of social media channels for communication of Islamic Relief’s key messages, through relevant content, experience and dialogue, allow individuals to connect directly with other individuals or groups, as well as brands and organisations, thus creating valuable relationships with both online and offline supporters.
In order to more effectively use social media platforms that will increase effectiveness of digital/social brand engagement, fundraising and corporate partnerships, Islamic Relief in Pakistan needs to engage a social media consultant.
Purpose and objectives:
Under the guidance and supervision of the Communication Manager, the consultant will assist Islamic Relief Country Office Islamabad in;
1. Development and production of multimedia content to increase media reach & visibility effectiveness, increase the followers
2. Improving the visibility of IRP’s brand (Reach, Engagement, and Visits to website)
3. Establishing dedicated resources for IRP’s social media to maintain growth and to work with influencers
4. Web-related activities, including transfer to the new website and social media in outreach

Content Creation
Proactively create editorial content (stories, photos, advocacy images, campaigns, audio, video, infographics, etc.) in cooperation with Communication Team and adapt for different social media channels i.e. Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, posting daily.

SUPERVISION, WORK RELATIONS & OVERSIGHT
The consultant will report to Communication Manager for direct supervision. They will work in close cooperation with Media and Communications department.
TRAVEL
Travel might be be required. Travel expenses will be covered in accordance with Islamic Relief rules and regulations.
PAYMENT CONDITIONS
Remuneration amount will be based on the qualification of the consultant and will be paid monthly upon certification of deliverables.
UNSATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE
Payment of fees to the Contractor under this contract, including each installment or periodic payment (if any), is subject to the Contractor’s full and complete performance of his or her obligations under this contract with regard to such payment to Islamic Relief’s satisfaction, and certification to that effect.
All materials developed will remain the copyright of Islamic Relief and that Islamic Relief will be free to adapt and modify them in the future.
QUALIFICATIONS OR SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Education
At least a Bachelor’s Degree in communication design, marketing, social science or a related field.
Work experience
At least 3 years of experience in communication; - Demonstrated experience in maintaining social media accounts, especially Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, as well as experience with new media executions, preferably with a development organization; knowledge and understanding of local and global digital landscape and trends;
- Experience with graphic design, ability to create designs for digital media purposes in open -source graphic design programmes, such as Canva;
- Ability to integrate PR/communication initiatives with social media;
- Experience developing compelling content to generate response from audiences online;
- Experience in reporting on qualitative and quantitative analytics;
- Ability to take quality photographs and basic photo editing skills;
- Previous INGO//UN experience in a similar role is highly desirable;
Language Proficiency
Fluency in both written and spoken Urdu and English is essential.
NOTE: The consultant will be required to work out of Islamic Relief’s office in Islamabad, 5 days a week
