What the first 30-60-90 days in the job will look like?
 
Within 30 days you will: 
Get the basic orientation from legal team on scope of work, process flows, stakeholders lists and templates for agreements.
Get familiarized with company policies/SOPs relating to litigation and licenses of the company and its subsidiaries.
Get familiarized with all court cases and all pending court files.
Get familiarized with all type of systems being used for Litigation and by the Legal Affairs department.
Get acquainted with external legal counsels and internal stake holders in order to provide assistance from a legal perspective
Start coordination with external legal counsel and internal customer for seeking feedback on the litigious matters under the guidance of senior member in the team
 
Within 60 days, you will: 
Liaise with Tax & Customs, HR related institutions and Regulatory authorities as and when required
Draft and respond to legal notices and also prepare other legal documents after seeking necessary inputs from peer departments with consultation of senior member of the team.
Report your cases and litigious matters through weekly updates and appearing with external legal counsel in court where necessary or so desired by your line manager/peer department.
 
Within 90 days to onwards you will:
Draft written statements/Para-wise comments/applications etc. for courts related documents in litigious matters
Coordinate and liaise with peer departments and external counsels for smooth sharing of information required for contesting/defending the court cases;
Independently review, draft, endorse legal agreements/SLA's related to assigned departments.
Provide legal advice/assistance to internal Departments on matters pertaining to interpretation of statutes and agreements.
Support in regulatory matters to Corporate Regulatory Affairs and provide necessary co-ordination to regulatory bodies wherever needed
Provide Legal Opinion on litigious matters to all departments of the organization.
Provide legal assistance and opinion on contract related matters.
Provide legal assistance on various commercial project initiative by the Company
Mentor, guide and collaborate with other team members for overall development
Assist the company in various initiative for digital transformation.
Perform record keeping, update Litigation Portals and prepare litigation reports

Legal Affairs department of Jazz is one of the most innovative, exciting and competent department in the Market. It strives on providing best legal solutions to the Company and enhance the capacity of the Company in achieving commercial milestones in the market.
 
The structure of the team you will join is:
An eight (08) member team with no sub teams.
 
The two (02) main priorities of the team as a whole are:
Provide enriched, differentiated and rewarding experience for all the internal stakeholders of the Company.
Ensure alignment among all external, internal customers and Group.
 
With which other stakeholders the successful candidate will work with functional/regional/ within the team. 
You will work with internal and external stakeholders including divisional/departmental heads, internal contracts team members, corporate governance team, commercial projects teams in Legal Affairs and all functions of the company for effective planning, development and roll out of the Company initiatives.
 
What would be the result of those interactions if we assume 100% collaboration?
Coming up with legal solutions focused towards delivering real time business value.
 
The two (02) specific tasks that team was working on in the last 6 months with results.
Digital transformation and restructuring of processes of Legal Affairs
Compiling litigation data, keeping in view Group reporting and transformation of BTS related cases.
 
The three (03) must have past experiences the best candidate should have.
Experience of independently handling court cases at various forum including, but not limited to, labor courts and authorities
Experience of reviewing pleadings and legal notice drafts. Must have the ability to prepare applications, respond to legal notices and other correspondence with several authorities.
Ability to deal with Law Enforcement Agencies
Worked in a Corporate environment for at least 3-5 years
 
The three (03) must have technologies the candidate should have.
Microsoft Office Suite
Litigation management tools
 
Essential skills must have: 
LLB Degree with a sound knowledge of the law of Pakistan in general & telecom laws in particular and anticipated litigation therefrom.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Possess knowledge of the legal framework especially telecom laws in Pakistan.
Drafting and analytical skills
Research skills with sound knowledge about various contracts arrangements and in-depth knowledge of company laws
Knowledge of litigation management
Has the ability to handle court matters independently
Should be able to get early disposals
Advance communication skills for managing cross functional projects.
