Overview:
The Maternal and Child Survival Program (MCSP) is a global, USAID Cooperative Agreement to introduce and support high-impact health interventions with a focus on 24 high-priority countries with the ultimate goal of ending preventable child and maternal deaths within a generation. In Pakistan MCSP will be working on Accelerating Family Planning in Pakistan (AFPP) to quickly accelerate the achievement of: 1) Family Planning 2020 (FP2020) objectives in Pakistan and 2) USAID/Pakistan’s Ending Preventable Maternal and Child Deaths (EPCMD) objectives in the area of Family Planning (FP). MCSP/AFPP is a one year project and will be working in three provinces of Pakistan- Sindh, Punjab, and Baluchistan in close collaboration with USAID/Pakistan and USAID/Pakistan implementing partners.
Similar to other provinces, Balochistan health department is providing health services independently through hospitals in district headquarters, rural health centers (RHCs), basic health units (BHUs), maternal and child health (MCH) centers and twelve vertical programs. The management of BHU is under the control of People’s Primary Healthcare Initiative (PPHI) which is a semi-government organization. On the other hand, population welfare department (PWD) is also working for the provision of FP services through its centers across the province. The coordination between health department, PPHI and PWD is well-intentioned in Balochistan; however, at present, there is no any integrated reporting systems available with departments except DHIS reporting system, which is for reporting of service delivery data of health department and PPHI only. In addition, the training component in departments is completely outmoded having no specified mechanism for reporting and maintain the trainings’ data and no utilization of data is evident too. Thereby, the need of integrated reporting system across both the departments is realized in the province. In this nexus, Balochistan Government requested Jhpiego to develop integrated software for training data which was developed by Jhpiego based on the current system.
In this regard, Jhpiego is seeking the services of consultancy firm/individual for the development of users’ manual and reference code book for the software. The users’ manual and reference code manual will be handed over to Balochistan Government in order to help them in managing the software since starting.
The consultant will work in close collaboration with Communication Officer throughout the tenure of consultancy.
