Senior Java Architect/Developer

We are looking for a Senior Java Architect/Developer to join our team as a leader to work on disruptive technologies delivering world class solutions.

You will be working directly with the CTO interacting with various stakeholders of the business in order to envision industry requirements, remain on top of advances in the area, model, and deliver solutions that are inline with our goals and strategy. Part of your work will involve conducting research, gathering information, interpreting data, and putting the insights into practice.

Such collaboration will also allow you to become familiar with the skills and interests in the team and to share their knowledge with everyone. We would expect you to write quality code and to demonstrate leadership to our vibrant team in terms of standards and practices. You should be able to oversee progress of development team to ensure consistency with the initial design.

Overall, you would have demonstrable software design and development experience along with strong background in cloud environments, software architectures, and agile practices.

Requirements:

● Identifying business and stakeholder requirements

● Designing and developing solutions based on specifications

● Implementing the chosen system architecture and each individual component

● Suggesting technologies and integrations for the implementation of different components

● Ability to review code and ensuring best practices are followed

● Developing enterprise platform services utilizing microservices architecture

● Developing unit tests, functional tests, and integration test frameworks for distributed systems

● Performing peer reviews, code walkthroughs, and weekly demos

● CI/CD pipeline management for infrastructure components

● Must have the ability to be a self-starter and work independently on technical projects but also work collaboratively with project team members through an agile development process that promotes constant team communication

● Must have excellent communication skills to assist in conducting user interview sessions, requirements gathering, and design reviews

● Mentor and grow a team of software developers

● Knowledge and experience of Linux and Docker

● Knowledge of best practise solutions for monitoring live systems and a passion for improving service to customers

● Excellent knowledge of the Java language and programming paradigms

● Excellent knowledge of HTTP REST Protocol

● Experience using build tools Maven etc

● Experience in following development practises TDD, BDD using tools/frameworks like Junit, Mockito, Cucumber

● Full stack debugging

● A keen interest in looking at and improving Production system performance and identifying proactive ways to prevent issues

● Jenkins, Jira

● Must be a confident communicator with good written and oral communication

● Ability to build credible good relationships with managers, team members and internal and external stakeholders

Core Skills:

● 10 Years of Experience in the relevant fields

● Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Computer Science or relevant discipline.

● Broad and extensive knowledge of the software development process and its technologies.

● Knowledge of software architectural styles and design patterns.

● Understanding of various coding methods and computer languages.

● Data modelling and database design experience.

● Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes

● Experience with microservices architecture

● Experience with cloud (AWS) deployments

● Understanding of software quality assurance principles
