The Reading teacher will carry out the district wide plan to improve the reading achievement of all students

Responsibilities:

Conducting assessments to determine students reading levels
Creating reading plans to match student ability and learning styles
Guiding children through reading and writing activities to help them overcome obstacles to literacy
Helping students read fluently, comprehend what they're reading, and train them in phonetics, spelling, grammar vocabulary and memorization.
Participates in regular professional development to improve personal knowledge and skills
Consulting with parents and teachers to recommend at home strategies to improve reading skills
Perform other related work as required
