- To review the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Livestock Policy, 2018, and accordingly identify the need for KP Livestock Policy legislations.
- To review all the existing laws / acts in the livestock sector in Pakistan for their improvement and adoption by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in light of the 18th constitutional amendment.
- To prepare “Animal Welfare Act” in light of the “Prevention of cruelty to Animal Act”.
- To review the various regimes of inspection for livestock, poultry, their products, byproducts, veterinary medicines, drugs, vaccines, biologics and prepare a comprehensive act for such an inspection regime in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
- Harmonize new and existing laws with the current OIE regulation/guidelines and international best practice and PVS recommendation for doing all above tasks.
- Analysis of the proposed Veterinary Public Health (VPH) Acts having an emphasis on zoonotic disease control, farmer registration and licensing of establishments, animal slaughterhouse, meat inspection, and milk inspection.
- Necessary legislation and legal framework for disease surveillance and reporting.
- Analysis of The Punjab Animals Feed Stuff and Compound Feed Act 2016 and Sind Animal breeding control act for possible Up-dating and revamping in local scenarios.
